Deniz Aktay has been designing furniture and objects that fuse modern aesthetics with multifunctionality. The wood and glass Converse table and the Lip coffee table are some great examples of his creative design approach. Over again, we come across another stunning creation from Aktay; the Crosbred: a wooden storage unit that doubles as a table.

At the first sight, you will recognize it as a modular bookshelf featuring an X-shaped design. Owing to the intersecting design, the bookshelf has inclined shelf surfaces but Aktay has also added a flat surface on one side of the shelf that can be used as a table.

Aptly described by the designer as a storage table, it not only creates multiple storage areas to store plenty of accessories, books, and other frequently used items but also provides a plain tabletop area to place cups and other items.

Sporting simple hues and plywood texture, Crosbred storage table looks really playful and minimalistic. However, it’s quite pleasing to see how plywood has been curved to naturally form the furniture.

Deniz has put immense focus on the bookshelf’s multifunctional design, which would leave homeowners with placement issues. It wouldn’t be easy to identify an ideal spot for the storage table since its unusual design will leave few possibilities.
