Woodworker Johnny Brooke from Crafted Workshop has shared a DIY project to build an end table using scrap wood. The DIY table consists of a thick end grain cutting board for firm support. This table design is a great way to put scrap wood to use, so let’s cut straight to the chase.

Procedure
1) After collecting the scrap wood, Brooke cut them in rough lengths to give unique look to the furniture. The end table is about 23 inches tall, so the four leg pieces and other wood strips are cut in the 10 to 18-inch range. After cutting strips to rough length, he has flattened two sides on the planer to tightly glue them together in the next step.
2) After aligning the wooden strips and tightly assembling these pieces together, he flattened the arranged pieces on the planer for the smooth finish. Once the first batch of layers is arranged and glued together, he created few more wooden layers using wooden strips.
3) Next step is to smoothly clean up each layered block and fix all of them together to form a firm end table. After assembling all the pieces, the rough wooden edges were sanded with 400 grit sandpaper and further polished for a perfect aesthetic appeal.
