Founded in 2007 in Italy, Draga and Aurel is a multi-disciplinary design studio best known for making unique furniture collections sporting the creative touch of colored resin. The Transparency Matters is one of its most popular collections designed in collaboration with Todd Merrill Studio. The line seeks to explore the opportunities of resin in art and design which is apparent in the BEBA armchair from the collection as well.

Conveying playfulness, light-heartedness and beauty, this armchair is an expression of femininity that resembles a blooming flower. Made from painted resin fiber, alpaca wool, Marzotto velvets – the furniture piece has a structured form and is super soft to the touch.

The frame is made from painted resin fiber with a velvet-like matte effect, contrasted with black edges that are inspired by hay couture corsets. The seat is cozy thanks to the combination of two Marzotto Interiors velvets with varying thicknesses. The backrest is upholstered with a short-pile cotton velvet named Belfast, while the seat cushion uses a fur-effect acrylic velvet named Mara, or Alpaca velvet.

With its smooth and sensual volumes, the BEBA armchair marks the addition of upholstered furniture to the Transparency Matters collection. The duo has masterfully used color and resin to create an eye-catchy armchair that you can expect at Salone 2023.
