The official countdown for the Salone del Mobile 2022 has begun. The event is going to be flooded with a plethora of product designs ranging from the iconic Tolomeo lamp to Aston Martin’s sofa and bed collection. Danish designer Cecilie Manz will also be joining the party with her EN chair and table. The EN chair is part of Japanese wood design studio MARUNI’s furniture collection 2022.

This is the first collaboration between the Danish designer and the Japanese leading provider of high-quality furniture. The EN series comprises a round table and a chair that is ideal for any living room. The chair features a rounded back and the seat is padded with soft upholstery. The structure is poised on chamfered frame-shaped legs. We have to be a little patient – for about a month – before the furniture is officially unveiled at the 60th anniversary of Salon del Mobile.

Other than the EN chair, the new MARUNI collection will also include the HIROSHIMA Armchair designed by Naoto Fukasawa. The armchair is a blend of advanced technology and handcraft. It was launched in 2008, but we are hoping that there would be subtle changes made to it. Some reports claim that the chair now features a more spacious seating area. We’ll have to wait for an official clarification on that as well.

The MARUNI 2022 COLLECTION also features the SETO table. It is a 3.2-meter-long table boasting a classic design. The table comes with a solid wood top and can even be used as a table for conferences if required. Building their collaboration one step further, English designer, Jasper Morrison’s creation would also be showcased in the MARUNI table and chair collection 2022. It is unclear which of the Morrison designs will feature at the event but top bets are placed on the Fugu seating collection, which was expanded last fall.
