A great camping adventure starts with choosing a tent that matches the terrain you’ll explore. While some tents struggle in forested areas, others are relatively difficult to pitch in mountainous regions. With countless tents on the market, some excellent, others underwhelming, it is often difficult to pinpoint the right choice for a particular terrain. This is where the FLOATY Dual Hammock Tent by THECATAL offers an existing alternative to traditional tents.

For those frustrated by the limitations of existing gear, the FLOATY Dual Hammock Tent comes out as a solution that seamlessly switches between a suspended hammock and a floor-standing tent. While hammock-tent hybrids aren’t new, FLOATY seems tailor-made for diverse camping scenarios. This is possible courtesy of the tent’s all-in-one system that works as both a hammock and a backpacking tent.

FLOATY can be used as a quick-pitch, stable ground tent. This is possible courtesy of the optional tripod system, which allows off-ground camping even in areas with no or only one tree. “FLOATY uses THECATAL’s unique single-arch + dual-anchor structure that allows for fast, stable ground setup in just a few steps,” the company points out.

When suspended above the ground, FLOATY uses the Knotforce stabilization system. “The upper Dyneema ropes provide strong grip, while the lower adjustable straps and arch pole structure form a tensioned bridge that resists sway and rollover,” the company adds. As per THECATAL’s campaign page, FLOATY is also the first to feature THECATAL’s proprietary CoatForce fabric, a high-tensile, multi-layer coated blend “that’s been years in the making,” the company claims.

Beyond these features, the tent weighs 4.98 lbs (tent body with support pole and suspension system), and boasts a weight capacity of 396 lbs, hence sleeping a couple with ease. “The M-shaped suspension and arched support structure divide the sleeping surface into two independent zones, preventing roll-in and pressure, ensuring real comfort for two,” the company notes.

The dual hammock tent has a built-in bug net and waterproof materials. The waterproof materials promise to keep you dry, while the integrated bug net protects you from mosquito bites. Not to mention, its full double-wall design and proper insulation gear make FLOATY suitable for cold and harsh winter conditions. Other features include a two-built-in vestibule and additional gear storage for housing EDC items.

While Kickstarter has seen its share of scams, THECATAL’s track record in crowdfunding adds credibility. The FLOATY Dual Hammock Tent, with preorders starting at $499, is worth investing in for your next outdoor adventure.
