In today’s fast-paced world, self-cleaning litter boxes are a must-have for cat owners. Despite their higher price tag, these litter boxes spare the cat parents the tedious task of manual scooping. My only complaint with these automatic litter boxes is their unappealing looks, which often don’t blend with the home interior. The FuriHome self-cleaning cat litter box furniture, now crowdfunding on Kickstarter, aims to change that.

As evident in the pictures, this stylish cabinet doubles as a litter box with a sleek design that enhances any interior. Beyond its pet-focused functionality, the self-cleaning litter box furniture offers extra storage where you can either keep your own things or make it a designated spot for your feline’s accessories and food.

It features a pothole-style entrance that accommodates cats of all sizes for easy access. Not to mention, a built-in scratching board on the side, which promotes healthy claws without harming your furniture.

Beyond its design prowess, the FuriHome self-cleaning litter box reduces mess and litter scatter. This is possible courtesy of advanced features like UV sterilization and a TIO2 photocatalytic deodorizer, which provides a consistently fresh and bacteria-free environment. To ensure pet safety, the smart sensors pause cleaning when your cat enters, while bottom-weight sensors provide stability to the structure.

The FuriHome app, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled, allows remote monitoring and cleaning scheduling, with a touchscreen display for offline use. “FuriHome cabinet-cum-litter box requires Bluetooth pairing and Wi-Fi connection for app functionality, while offering complete offline operation through its integrated touchscreen display. Web interface is unavailable and third-party smart home integrations are not currently supported, though API accessibility is planned for future updates,” the company states.

FuriHome smart cat litter cabinet can be preordered from Kickstarter at a super early bird price of $399. It is to be noted that the main unit comes at $399, the top shelf spotted in the pictures comes as an add-on for $60. The prices are bound to change when the early bird price deal ends.
