Designer Eva Schildt designed the Gardener’s Sofa for Design House Stockholm and it fascinates everybody with its design and utility as outdoor furniture. It is an all-weather outdoor sofa made using double-coated steel that is a fusion of minimalistic and ergonomic design. The Gardener’s Sofa has a simple yet innovative design. The sleek steel frame blends perfectly in an outdoor setting, especially in a garden where it also provides a trellis for your plants.

The trellis-like front and back help give natural support to plants in the garden so that it does not feel like an alien piece of furniture in a natural environment. Alternatively, this metal sofa can be placed on the patio, outdoor deck, and backyard. It even can be used indoors and taken outside when needed.

The design of Gardener’s Sofa gives a lounge-like feel. The curve in the middle encompasses the body of the user and two to three adults can sit on it at once. The front and rear bases support this outdoor sofa’s main framework. Three metal stripes in the middle and the backrest form offer a comfortable seating option. Meanwhile, the L-shaped curved metal tubes rise from front to back to hold the stripes together and give structural stability. The sleek furniture is therefore robust enough to support the weight of the users.

The best part is that it can be used in all seasons. Owing to its sleek and minimalistic design even if it is kept outside in rain, it dries up quickly. Sitting on it doesn’t feel hot during the summer, or too cold in the winter. When kept for long in the garden it lets plants grow all around its structure thus becoming a part of the outdoor world.

The Gardener’s Sofa has bagged many awards, including Excellent Swedish Design and Young Swedish Design. Moreover, this sofa has been included in the Design Collection at the National Museum in Stockholm.
