After the floor-standing, smartphone controlled Tianzun smart air conditioner, Chinese consumer appliance maker Haier has launched a trio of top-loading washing machines. In the world flooded with front loading washing machines, these new models would sound prehistoric until you are head first with the fact that one of the machines in the line – the AQW-V700C is perhaps the world’s most eco-friendly and energy efficient washing machine ever made. The fully automatic washing machine with 7kg load capacity employs company’s proprietary outer rotor-type motor to scale down washing time and operating noise to almost 35dB.

The AQW-V700C washing machine uses PWM control, which helps machine’s motor to rotate in such a manner that in each full capacity washing it consumes as little as ¥ 1 worth of electricity (equivalent to electricity consumption of less than 1 cent). Priced at ¥75,000 (approximately $730), the eco-friendly washing machine will be available in February.
