For a daredevil like me, a camping trailer is worth its weight in gold. It’s a beautiful beast that I’d love to tow during the daytime and doze in when the night falls. My infatuation with trailers has brought me so far that I can’t stop myself from going gaga over a new launch. The obsession is not limited to being a trailer aficionado. I am a swashbuckler who likes going on dirt bike adventures and that is when a toy hauler (which I personally prefer calling the daddy trailer) hits the market. it’s imperative then I share its information with my readers.

Case in point, an Australian company, Hauslein Tiny House, widely reckoned for its tiny houses. The Aussie manufacturer has now decided to dirty its hands in the trailer industry. The result is the Hauslein toy hauler which is born out of our passion for getting out into the great Australian outdoors with all your prized gear along.

Being a toy hauler, you’d expect it to be massive in size! However, it’s not too humongous of a trailer and measures only 26 feet in length and 8 feet wide, which is on the smaller side for a toy hauler. Boasting a sleek body and cube form factor, it is built on a durable, galvanized, and heavy-duty trailer chassis. It doesn’t have vents, flaps, panels, and gas bottles, and still carries a sense of beauty and inspiration in the aesthetics.

Thanks to 800-watt solar panels on the roof and 3.2 kWh lithium batteries keep the toy hauler functional in all-weathers off-the-grid. In addition to this, an 80-liter water tank and a 40-liter grey water tank let you sustain through days and offer all the comforts beyond any typical camping trailer.

Keeping your bikes and boards secured in its toy section, it features an electric winch ramp door for easy access. Measuring 11 feet in length, the Hauslein toy hauler interior cargo space has 400kgs of maximum weight capacity. Implying you can easily transport up to three motorbikes or one large ATV in it. Apart from the easy load and roll-out feature, there are multiple configurations for motorbike tie-downs or board racks.

You can walk straight to the long-term area through the garage door which features an L-shaped sofa that can be used as a bed (king single) for two. There is also a sleeping compartment above it which can easily accommodate an additional person.

The bathroom is adjacent to the living room and includes a full-size shower and toilet. Facing the bathroom is a kitchen featuring black solid premium ply cabinetry. The kitchen is accoutered with all essentials alongside a flyscreen and black-out blinds on the side windows. Another interesting aspect is that AC is not on top of the roof and is actually built at the bottom of one of the cabinets in the kitchen.

Clever design and high-level functionality is the key aspect of the toy hauler which comes as a disappointment to me in its 22-square meter floor area. I’d loved it more if the garage space was more convenient and versatile and could be converted into a living room. Nevertheless, the fully off-grid trailer is for those seeking to reduce their footprint amid craving for dirt bike dreams.
