According to IKEA newsroom, the Swedish furniture store has made an official announcement of its collection of 21 new Matter-enabled smart home products. The collection consists of sensors, lighting, and remote controls.

With this anticipated news release, IKEA is taking a step forward in creating a smart home ecosystem in compatibility with Matter, the universal smart home standard, making smart home technology easy for people to use. Not to mention, more affordable.

The collection brings forth some new products, along with upgrades in existing categories, mandate to work with Matter. The Matter connectivity will make IKEA smart home products quite flexible to connect with a wider range of devices and platforms, making it effortless for users to create a smarter and efficient home network. Let’s have a look at the new IKEA Matter-enabled smart home collection.

KAJPLATES Smart Bulb Range

The KAJPLATES smart bulb range incudes 11 variants in distinctive shapes, sizes, level of lumens, and styles. This range also has the option in color and white spectrum, as well as dimmable features. The big names in the lineup are E27/26-standard globe shape (60mm in diameter), P45 E14 with compact profile (45 mm diameter), and GU10 directional spotlight. There are also clear-glass decorative bulbs in three sizes, offering white spectrum only.

Smart Sensors

IKEA has also added to its smart home collection an array of five sensors for sensing air quality, motion, humidity, and water leakage. The first is MYGGSPRAY, a motion sensor for indoor and outdoor use. It detects motion and switches on the light of entryways, staircases, hallways, and garages.

The second one is MYGGBETT, which is a door and window sensor. The sensor senses and sends notification on your phone whenever a door or window is opened.

The third one is TIMMERFLOTTE. It detects humidity and temperature inside the house. Users can simply press the button to view temperature.

On the other hand, ALPSTUGA notifies you about the air quality by measuring CO2, particles, temperature, and humidity to check the air quality indoors. This sensor is also compatible with IKEA air purifiers.

The KLIPPBOK is the fifth sensor in the lineup. It detects water leakage in your home and alarms you with a sound. The sensor boasts a small design that can be easily placed under sinks, appliances, or other areas with more risk.

Remote Controls and Plugs

Concluding the lineup of Matter-enabled smart home products, IKEA has also included remote controls and plugs to control devices from a distance. The BILRESA remote control comes with a dual button, perfect for controlling brightness, color, switch lights on and off, and more.

The second remote control is BILRESA with a scroll wheel, allowing you to adjust colors, dimmer, switch lights on and off, and more. The next one is BILRESA remote control kits. These kits consist of three color types: red, beige, and green. The GRILLPLATS with smart plug allows you to control lamps and smaller appliances. It can also be paired with a remote or motion sensor.
