Furniture design has come a long way when we talk about look, functionality and uniqueness of the materials used. Especially when there are countless hours of hard work and creativity put into its creation. Conor Mcreedy, a renowned South African-born designer based in Zurich, who’s known for his affinity with monochromatic blue colored (known as Mccreedblue) creations has materialized yet another stunning glow in the dark creation.

This folks is Illuminatus Table which is inspired by Conor’s fascination with the star-studded African sky since his childhood. To be precise, the idea to create an illuminated table reminiscent of the moonlit sky came on a wild safari, when lion’s eyes glow blue in the dark.

To create this sharp looking table, Conor made use of liquidized phosphor as Mccreedblue pigment. All the eight (Conor’s favorite number) angles of this glowing blue tables are carefully cut to give it that definitive sharpness. What actually makes it even more alluring is the fact that there is an exclusive abstract painting by Conor Mcreedy secured inside each one. The painting is kept safe inside the air-tight fitting of the glass top, protecting it from humidity and other elements.

The top section of the nature-inspired table is made from one inch shatterproof glass giving the table a sense of depth. In fact the tabletop is designed in such a way that it seems like the ocean bed full of water. From every angle that you view this table, it glows in different hues of blue light.

Illuminatus Table seems to have a floating appearance during night time, thanks to the solid structured base which also provides stability. Surely, this striking table is ideal for modern dwellings, especially ones themed on glowing furniture.
