Netherlands-based office furniture company NO-EM collaborated with designer Robert Bronwasser to create the world’s first truly circular office chair. Dubbed the Infinity, the chair features a modular and circular design, making it easier to disassemble and replace damaged parts as many times as you want, creating a circular lifecycle. You can reconfigure and reuse the same chair for the rest of your life.
The designer wanted to create an office chair that offered the comfort of a lounge chair with a circular, modular design. The modular feature ensures the Infinity chair is easy to repair and upgrade. Built to last a lifetime, the chair is designed to evolve with people and time.
A significant percentage of post-consumer or post-industrial recycled content is used to make the Infinity chair, making it environmentally friendly. The upholstered back and seat are made from net weave fabric. The armrests are cushioned, giving a superior all-round comfort. It has a five-legged star base with grey multifunctional castors. The adjustable lumbar provides extra comfort, which is the most important feature for an office chair. The seat height is also fully adjustable with a gas lift.
The chair has interchangeable modules, making it fully adaptable. You can transform a simple desk chair into an office chair or a meeting chair. All you need to do is change the modules, and you get new furniture suitable for any workspace.
The best part about the Infinity office chair is that when a part is damaged, only the affected module needs to be replaced. There is absolutely no need to throw away the entire chair. Not only does it make the product economical, but also easy on the environment.
The chair design is easy to disassemble and reassemble, making it convenient for the user. In fact, the manufacturer takes back the damaged part and repairs it so it can be reused again: Less waste means less damage to the environment.

The product comes in four different versions. The Infinity Basic is priced at €443 ($509), the Infinity Work is priced at €495 ($569), the Infinity Office is priced at € 530 ($609), and the Infinity Meet is priced at €552 ($634).
The Infinity chair is not just a simple piece of furniture; it is a business model that leaves the traditional use-and-throw approach most chair manufacturers have followed for many decades. The standout feature of this product is the chair’s lifespan, which is increased through its circular design.
NO-EM is exhibiting these chairs at the Workspace Design Show in RAI Amsterdam from 5–6 November 2025.
