Among all the luminaires showcased at 3daysofdesign this year, the INFINITY Lamp by Boris Berlin stands out for its innovative architectural pendant form created for the Danish brand Made by Hand. It debuted as a centerpiece of the designer’s work at the 2026 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen.
The INFINITY lamp embodies a sculptural and continuous aesthetic that blurs the boundary between functional lighting and fine art. Its form is shaped into a fluid, three-dimensional infinity loop that completely rejects traditional hard angles or rigid structural frames.
The fixture lacks a defined front, back, or top, and therefore, achieves a mesmerizing, shape-shifting quality that appears to morph visually depending on the angle from which it is viewed. The resulting look is one of ethereal weightlessness, casting a soft, poetic presence that makes the entire luminous fixture seem to float effortlessly within a room.
Visually, the lamp presents a striking contrast between precise, architectural geometry and soft, organic materiality. The glowing, curved lines of the infinity silhouette emit a highly diffused, warm light that radiates uniformly through its fabric skin without harsh glare or visible hot spots.
Its outer textile layer features a refined, textured surface that catches the light beautifully, adding a rich tactile depth to its minimalist profile. Whether suspended horizontally as a dramatic centerpiece over a dining table or hung vertically to accentuate a tall stairwell, its clean and futuristic look commands attention in any contemporary interior.
The manufacturing process relies on cutting-edge material engineering, featuring an advanced frame constructed from a precisely extruded aluminum profile that is twisted into its complex mathematical shape. This custom metal skeleton is then tightly wrapped in two pieces of sophisticated, three-dimensional knitted textile that are engineered to stretch flawlessly over the curves without wrinkling.

An energy-efficient, high-output LED light strip is seamlessly integrated into the core of the frame, safely concealed entirely within the fabric layer. This innovative construction method eliminates the need for harmful polyurethane foams or heavy, traditional lampshades, highlighting the designer’s strict commitment to clean, sustainable manufacturing.
The standard individual unit is built around a single elongated component, engineered to function either as a standalone statement piece or custom multi-fixture formations. An individual element measures 140 cm with an internally mounted LED light strip.
