Karim Rashid is a once-in-a-generation talent who likes creating the quirkiest designs in the most audacious palettes. He draws inspiration from various real-life objects and sentiments to give his work a distinctive soul, such as the ballet shoe-inspired Pointe bathtub. Now Karim is back with Latvia’s PAA Baths with a new bathtub. A fresh take on his ALBA tub for the brand, the new Alba OB bathtub is a study in silky, sensual minimalism.

Pretty in pastel pink, the Alba OB transforms the quintessential tub into a sculptural object of calm. Made from silky matte resin, the freestanding bathtub flaunts soft continuous geometry that blurs the line between furniture and architecture, sculpture, and wellness.

It becomes one with your existing space, blending into the background softly yet standing as a centerpiece. The flared base of the tub adds a certain sensuality to the fixture and ideally complements its oval silhouette.

Its smooth surface further enhances the relaxing element, while the integrated removable side shelf on the rim elevates the functionality. The Alba OB bathtub is designed to embrace every curve of the body for a smooth everyday ritual.

The color palette also brings an emotional intelligence to otherwise sterile spaces, evoking storytelling and imagination. The tub’s sleek form factor, combined with a matte finish material, becomes more than its function. It rises to become an architectural sculpture, ready to wash away your stress and soothe your body and soul.

Bringing a new sensuality to a contemporary bathroom, the Alba OB bathtub embodies Karim’s vision of creating “a sanctuary for reflection, renewal, and emotional well-being and removal of clutter.” But the tub not only reduces visual noise but also introduces softness, comfort, and serenity through its soft yet imposing form.
