Klipsch is announcing so much for the audiophile community that audio fanatics are going gaga over their latest offerings. First, it introduced a bookshelf version of its popular Heritage speakers, and now the US-based company has debuted the Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Limited Edition at HIGH END Vienna 2026, which will attract hi-fi lovers who appreciate the little nuances in their favorite music. You’ll appreciate the fact that this one is the longest continuously produced loudspeaker in audio history, which now combines a historical acoustic architecture with modern processing technologies.
“We created this special edition of the Klipschorn to pay homage to Paul W. Klipsch’s tech of 1946, which remains incredibly relevant today,” said Klipsch’s COO Vinny Bonacorsi. “It’s a testament to his legacy that, 80 years on, we’re bringing his original patented designs back to life. From his early interest in active networks to the category-defining K-5-J horn, we’ll always work with purpose to honor his intentions, using all available engineering advancements to push the threshold of what’s possible,” Vinny added.
The audio system is a fully horn-loaded loudspeaker that reimagines the original patented design by Paul W. Klipsch, for its 80th anniversary celebrations. This limited-edition model abandons the current AK7 model’s three-way design to return to founder Paul W. Klipsch’s original 1946 two-way configuration. It features a new K-5-K high-frequency horn (2″ throat) and a high-powered 4-inch compression driver featuring motor technology derived from Klipsch’s flagship Jubilee speaker.
The innovative folded-horn design increases the bass efficiency of its fully enclosed low-frequency cabinet and K-33-E 15-inch woofer to offer deep bass. This vintage acoustic architecture is combined with a modern active DSP crossover network. It does multiple things to enhance audio quality, including correcting phase and time delay, eliminating acoustic cancellations, optimizing EQ and gain, while also maximizing output in the crossover region to deliver a more accurate and immersive listening experience. Additionally, it also includes low-frequency and high-frequency trim controls to fine-tune the sound based on room acoustics and personal preference.

The Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Limited Edition is finished in tigerwood veneer with brass inlays and book-matched grain patterns and a sandcast aluminum horn for mid-century modern, yet timeless aesthetics. Each speaker comes with a separate Active Crossover unit finished in a matching style to complement the entire audio system.
Looking at the subtle design and build quality, it is right to say that the audio unit is a heirloom-quality loudspeaker that generations will cherish. If wishing to buy, this hi-fi speaker is limited to 280 pairs worldwide, but there are no words about the pricing. Adding to its exclusivity, each Klipschorn Anniversary speaker also includes a special 180g vinyl pressing of tracks selected from the KlipschTape archives.
