Catering to the people who love vibrant yet aesthetic furniture pieces, the Italian furniture brand S-CAB has expanded its Koala family with new indoor and outdoor iterations. Designed by Venice-based design studio Zaven, the latest Koala Barstools and Koala Outdoor pieces merge formal structures with fun and vibrant upholstery options.
Boasting Zaven’s distinctive approach, the stools feature a measured design language that transforms simplicity into identity. Offering comfort to the body, the structure of the stools consists of tubular metal rings that define the seat and backrest. The additions feature a quirky and playful design compared to their predecessors, adding a lively touch to the space.
While talking to Homecrux, Zaven said, “Koala is a seat with a gentle, enveloping design, created to offer maximum comfort while respecting the body’s ergonomics. Its metal structure not only ensures comfort and support, but also defines the form and enhances its full potential. The design is built around a metal ring that supports the backrest and embraces the seat, creating a soft and harmonious effect.”
Koala Barstools
The barstools retain the distinctive structure and enveloping comfort of the previous Koala chairs. The barstools offer two backrest options: a high-back model that features the same shell as the armchair, and a low-back version that is an exclusive backrest to the barstools.
The high model suits indoor, domestic settings best, while the low-backs are ideal for informal, party settings. Both pieces maintain their versatility and aesthetic while featuring vibrant colors.
Koala Outdoor Stools
Adapting the indoor model, the Koala family moves outdoors with the outdoor stools. The seat is redesigned while featuring a different weaving pattern along the tubular backrest. The weaving pattern redefines comfort and serves as an additional playful feature for open spaces, cafes, poolside, or public squares. It also has an optional cushion for elevated comfort.
The strong graphic lines along with the use fun colors defines the character of the stools that is prime to the collection. The nautical weaving of the rope not only redefines the parameters of comfort but also adds to the visual warmth of the surroundings.
The new Koala indoor and outdoor stools add a practical and fun vibe to the environment while keeping the functionality and structure intact.
