Pauline Calippe, a fine arts and crafts graduate from Ecole Boulle, has created a comfy seating furniture, dubbed Kohl. It is a silicone bench with unique seat representing a transversely cut red cabbage. Nature has always been a source of inspiration for designers. For this new seat, the designer has taken a cue from leafy red cabbage, along with hypnotic psychedelic graphics.

The Kohl bench is composed of three different elements: base, wood and mattress structure. It is supported by tubular steel base that’s made from copper painted steel. The steel base holds beech wood structure that further grabs a mattress structure with cabbage-like patterns. This seating section includes countless forms in multiple reddish colors, transcribing graphic tapestry by a plastic molding process.

Measuring 120 x 40 x 45-cm, the bench is meant to accommodate two people, and also features an attached side table. The red cabbage-inspired bench is perfect for people, who loves extremely unusual designs. Unlike conventional wooden benches, this silicone bench with artistic tapestry is a true functional art piece.

It will be an aesthetic addition to any contemporary home, while offering a practical solution to homeowners. For more information, visit the designer’s official website.
