Fast forward to today, and Korg is stepping into the smoke light with its new creation, the Handytraxx Play, paying homage to the classic turntable that made waves when it was first introduced more than a century ago.

Korg has been buzzing with excitement as it gears up to unveil its latest products at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. Among the anticipated releases is the Handytraxx Play, a portable turntable born from a collaboration with the late Toshihide Nakama, former president of Vestax.

This modern take on the Handy Trax blends the nostalgia of the original with Korg’s digital prowess. The turntable is designed to be compact and lightweight, making it ideal for DJs on the move. Powered by either AAA-sized batteries or USB-C, the Korg Handytraxx Play boasts 3-W speakers, ensuring convenience for on-the-go music enthusiasts.

What sets this portable turntable apart is its ability to spin at 33.3, 45, or 78 rpm, accompanied by unique and creative filters. The built-in looper comes with variable playback speed, allowing DJs to experiment with their beats. Monitoring during playback through the headphones, a crossfader with reverse mode, and built-in delay and scratch effects further enhance the Handytraxx Play’s capabilities.
