Most teardrop trailers are so small that a person may start feeling suffocated inside them. I know the whole idea behind owning a teardrop trailer is to live inside a compact unit that is easy to tow. The problem however arises when you close the doors of the trailer and confine yourself in a tiny space. Even though there is a window to peek out occasionally, the metal body of the trailer encompasses you in a manner that chances are, you may feel a little claustrophobic.

Working on this aspect, Kuckoo Camper made a square-drop trailer prototype dubbed Emma. The trailer shows off flamboyant glass doors, which is the major highlight of the 11.4 feet German camper. Courtesy of the transparent doors on both sides, the inside of the trailer looks more spacious and keeps the occupant(s) connected with nature.

In addition to exhibiting a large counter-rotating glass door on the passenger and driver sides, the trailer also includes a skylight and a large rear window offering panoramic views throughout. All these features help bring the outdoors in while still negotiating the claustrophobic elements.

Small and minimalist, the trailer is made of wood and aluminum. The exterior shell of the trailer is made of plywood, while the roof is all aluminum. There is a foldable bench-style seat inside the trailer that can be transformed into a near-queen-size bed. The bed measures 57*78 inches and is ideal for two people to sleep in comfort and peace.

The space inside also includes decent storage but the hidden slide-out kitchen is the best of them all. Accessible via a large pull-out drawer, the 37-inch long slide kitchen can be used both inside and outside the trailer. There is an additional slide-out plank integrated into the pull-out unit that essentially serves as a cooking and prep surface.

A couple of years ago, Kuckoo Camper unveiled a square-drop camper trailer that ushered a new wave in the mini-trailer market. Packing a lot of essential features inside its compact body, the trailer was good enough to make it to our list of best trailers of 2021.

The German company’s newly introduced compact and lightweight trailer Emma is convenient for electric cars to tow. Weighing less than 900 lbs, it will be available for order starting in early 2024.
