Unlike most tiny houses that are expanded horizontally, it accommodates different living areas of the home vertically. It goes up 4.12 meters to pack a full kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. This means it is a non-towable, two-story tiny house that will require less land for installation.
Listed as a garden studio on the official website, it is a ready-to-live-in home that requires no administrative authorization. This tiny house features a KVH finger-jointed solid wood structure, paired with treated pine siding in your choice of color and EPDM or metal roofing. On the other hand, the interior space is decked with spruce paneling and Krono laminate flooring to ensure a fine modern look.
In La Ruche, every inch of the available 8-square-meter floor is optimized to create a highly functional living space on two levels. Inside, the layout places the kitchen at the entrance, where it also serves as the dining area with a fold-down table.
The bathroom is separated with a curtain, creating a more open feel and making better use of the limited floor space. The flexible design ensures every inch of the interior serves multiple purposes. It can also be equipped with several autonomy features to support a downsized lifestyle.

Designed for two people, it has one bed upstairs accessible via an integrated wooden ladder. The upper loft also includes storage and a large window to maximize natural light and views.
Each unit is made from bio-sourced wood for a minimal ecological footprint and uses 4-season insulation for optimal comfort. With similar construction to the three-story DQTower prefab home in Germany, its compact vertical form is unique, but it may lack the feeling that normal tiny houses offer.
