Generally, aroma diffusers are designed to be stable. Despite the idea of how they diffuse scents, they are not meant to sway on the table. French-based perfume house, Diptyque, is disrupting the norm with the Culbuto Oscillating Diffuser, which comprises a wooden sphere base attached to a ceramic stick that emits fruity and flowery accents.

Designed by Paris-based service agency Servair & Co, it is a tiny fragrance diffuser that sways gently and diffuses sweet-smelling perfume when in rocking motion. Inspired by a childhood toy, this diffuser is meant to freshen up your home and give you an ultimate sensory experience like you have not experienced before.

The Culbuto features a spherical base made from solid beechwood which holds refillable fragranced ceramic sticks. The sweet scent of baies (berries) is released from the stick when the base is set into rocking motion.

The rocker base amplifies the scent further when it is triggered with hand movements, infusing the air with the notes of blackcurrant berries mixed with flowery rose accent. Elevating the aura of your home, the pre-scented refillable ceramic sticks can last up to two and a half months for endless perfuming.

Detached from all the mechanisms, the oval-shaped base and the extended perfumed stick leave a lasting impression on you and your surroundings. Meant for small spaces, up to 215pi² in size, the decorative and aesthetically pleasing Culbuto can be used in an office cubical, at home, or in a compact library where it would enhance the already intimate environment.

Even though the Culbuto is a playful object, it is not very child and pet-friendly, so keep it out of their reach in a moisture-free space. Diptyque recommends washing your hands after touching the sticks since interaction with them could irritate sensitive skin.

The Culbuto Oscillating Diffuser is slightly on the pricier side. The pendulum-based diffuser costs $285 while the perfumed sticks are sold separately for $65. Despite the price, it’s worth investing in, if you want a unique aroma diffuser that can sway around on the table and fill your home or office with the smell of berries and fruits.
