A tiny house forces your hand to downsize life into a tiny little space with only necessities to keep you company and eliminate all the fluff that you can make do without. However, the invention of slide-outs has come as a reprieve to big families or maximalist folks who would like some extra space to fit in people or something extravagant. The Little Giant tiny house by New Zealand-based Arohanui Tiny Homes is aptly named for it becomes massive with not one or two, but five slide-outs that expand the interior to accommodate at least six people with ease while providing culinary grandeur in a well-designed layout.

Built on a 32.8-foot-long and 7.8-foot-wide trailer, the Little Giant is a road-legal micro-dwelling and easy to transport when slide-outs are not out. Amazingly, the slide-outs increase the width to 14.4 feet, which results in a total floor space of 689 square feet, and ample room to fit in large families.

The Little Giant tiny house features dual lofts, a splendid kitchen, a spa-like bathroom, and multiple storage options. The mechanical slide-outs divide the home on wheels into different living sections. The culinary grandeur is created with the biggest slide-outs in the middle allowing to fit a versatile kitchen island, making it one of the best cooking spaces we have seen in a while. It is flanked by two slide-outs on the front for the ground-floor bedroom and bathroom, and another slide-out on the back for the closet space.

The front French doors open into the kitchen, where mint green cabinets create a soothing vibe. The entire culinary area is built onto a slide-out and features a four-burner gas hob, electric oven, range hood, dishwasher, and refrigerator. It is the perfect space for a gourmet chef or someone who loves hosting.

A large 3-panel bi-folding window pours in natural light and keeps the area well-ventilated. In the middle sits an island, which allows you more prep space, a dining area, or a workstation. The front door is built into the second built-in, where a food-fired fireplace is neatly tucked into a corner.

On the left side, a ground-floor bedroom with two slide-outs and a walk-in wardrobe is designed to function as a versatile room, which can be used to sleep or lounge and entertain. Above the room sits a king-size loft with built-in storage. It has two windows to keep the space nice and breezy.

On the other side of the house, a big bathroom is designed with a slide-out to make it spacious and residential-like. It features a huge shower cabin, a vanity sink, a toilet, a washer/dryer unit, and multiple storage options. The ladder-accessible second loft is above the bathroom and also sleeps two people.

The Little Giant tiny house, including appliances, is available at NZD 199,000 (approximately $120,000). It could be a dream home to a small family and with its road-legal status and expandable features, the micro-dwelling is truly a gem.
