Summary:
- Lodge Cast Iron has unveiled two new bread ovens
- Ovens feature a domed lid design to naturally trap and circulate steam for crispy crusts with risen loaves
- Available in seasoned cast iron and enameled cast iron finishes
Lodge Cast Iron, one of the best American-made cast iron cookware brands, has launched its first-ever bread ovens. It expands the cookware lineup with two new products intended for artisan bread baking. Designed to simulate the conditions of a traditional bread oven, the two new ovens feature a bell-shaped, domed lid that naturally traps and circulates steam to create the perfect artisan bread. The ovens help home bakers achieve crisp crusts, moist interiors, and excellent spring that everyone who bakes bread craves.
The bread oven collection includes the Lodge Chef Collection Seasoned Cast Iron Bread Oven and the Lodge Enameled Cast Iron Bread Oven. Both cater to different baking needs and preferences.
“People have been baking artisan bread in Lodge cookware for generations, and our Double Dutch Oven and Combo Cooker have become trusted favorites among home bread bakers. As bread making continues to grow as both a craft and a ritual that brings people together, we saw an opportunity to build on that legacy with cookware designed specifically for the bread-baking experience, making it easier to create beautiful loaves at home,” Mike Otterman, CEO and President of Lodge Cast Iron, shared in the press release.
The Lodge Chef Collection Seasoned Cast Iron Bread Oven
The Seasoned Cast Iron Bread Oven comes seasoned with 100 percent natural vegetable oil and takes on the task of serious baking. Its seasoned surface improves with each bake, offering exceptional heat retention to deliver bakery-quality artisan bread.
The cast iron bread oven is oven-safe up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit and PFAS-free. It can withstand high-heat baking and will become an heirloom staple in any home baker’s kitchen.
The Lodge Enameled Cast Iron Bread Oven
The enameled bread oven has a cast iron core wrapped in a durable porcelain finish, which makes it easier to clean and maintain. It comes in three stylish colors: Oyster White, Ruby, and Emerald. The latter two will launch in September 2026. The enameled counterpart has the same domed design to help the loaves rise and achieve crisp crusts with moist interiors.
Its nonporous enamel doesn’t need seasoning, making it ideal for beginners and hobby bakers. It is oven-safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and PFAS-free.
