Washbasins are an important part of the bathroom, but their design has remained similar over the years, featuring the most basic shapes such as round, oval, and rectangular. This perception is changing as many designers and brands are experimenting with washbasin shapes, including the renowned brand Antoniolupi that created the multi-faceted Skyline a few months ago.
The all-new Musina and Posso countertop washbasins designed by Luca Nichetto for Kreoo follow the same approach, opting for a unique form inspired by an ancient Venetian archetype. According to the designer, these marble washbasins reinterpret the historic wells of Venice through a contemporary lens.
The first one is Musina, which features a circular inner profile and an octagonal outer shape, carved from a single block of marble. It has a bold, rounded top edge that gives it an elegant finish. Its outer surface features small raised panels for adding a subtle texture to the design. Its sculpted base features sloping surfaces and varying depths. What is more intriguing is how beautifully marble’s natural veins and patterns are showcased in every piece.

Next is the Posso washbasin that shares the octagonal motif but reinterprets the internal and vertex detailing. It features an elegant octagonal shape with gently curved sides and a slim base. Available in different natural stone finishes, you can choose the look you prefer. Inspired by traditional monuments yet reimagined for modern interiors, it blends timeless craftsmanship with contemporary style to create a sophisticated aesthetic.
These two octagonal marble washbasins transform an everyday object into a sculptural presence, where water, stone, and memory intersect. The design starts with the proportions, geometry, and materials of Venetian wells to translate their familiar presence into a contemporary object for modern homes.
