For those who are unaware, Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of kids between the ages of 2 and 18 with life-threatening medical conditions. This time the team of NGO collaborated with The Home Builders Association and the Rio Rancho Fire Rescue Department to create a dream playhouse for 12-year-old girl Hannah Hurd, who lives in a Rio Rancho neighborhood.

In April 2013, Hannah was diagnosed with brain tumor. The doctors warned them about the dangers of 11-hour surgery, but they had to do it for curing the disease. After the surgery, Hannah had to go through extensive physical therapy to even learn how to walk again. Fortunately, the tumor is now shrinking and there’s also an improvement in her condition.

Farrah Hurd, Hannah’s mother, said a project like the dream treehouse has been a blessing for the entire family, not just for Hannah. The little girl was inspired by watching “Treehouse Masters” on TV and always wanted to build a treehouse of her own.

When she found out that her wish was going to be granted, Hannah started researching products and looking for things she wanted to add to her dream home. She even created Pinterest boards and got fabric materials together for her custom house. Several volunteers are helping in the construction of the little girl’s dream playhouse. Even Hannah visits the construction site to see her dream in motion.

She seems extremely happy knowing her dream home, just house their family home, will be complete soon. Showing her excitement and happiness, Hannah told in an interview that she won’t even let her brother enter inside her playhouse and it’ll be all hers.
