Prêt à Pousser, a French start-up company based out of Paris has introduced a kitchen farm dubbed MULTO. When I first saw MULTO on Kickstarter, I was curious to know how it functions. The thing that puzzled me at first was how you can grow vegetables and herbs with a product that looks like an open cabinet.

As I read further, I construed that this kitchen farm allows you to grow up to 60 indoor plants in the kitchen or living room. Since I plan on becoming a househusband in the future, this is a perfect product to keep me busy with indoor farming as I’d prefer to avoid television.

Coming back to MULTO – it lets you grow fresh food from salads and herbs to small vegetables. You can grow up to 20-60 plants with this indoor farm, with 20% more yield than other crops due to its ebb and flow technology. The small garden easily fits in any room and is fairly simple to operate. It also has a nursery area reserved for the development of young shoots.

All you need to do is follow three simple steps; and you are the next World Food Prize winner. Alright, I am kidding.  Once you are done setting up MULTO, the first step involves inserting the pod in the desired section. The next two steps involve you turning on the glare-free smart lights, and adding water and nutrients to nurture the plants. The indoor garden has a refined design and can even be controlled through a companion app. It can be fully adjusted to size restraints and needs.

Currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, the self-sustaining indoor garden comes in four versions from the largest to the smallest to accommodate any home setting. In addition to serving as an indoor garden, the device also adds to the décor of the house. The MULTO countertop is available for an early bird pricing of $263 on Kickstarter. Grab yours for a healthy supply of fresh, home-grown vegetables and herbs.
