iFit’s subsidiary brand NordicTrack has launched its voice-controlled iSelect Adjustable Dumbbells. These are smart dumbbells that feature Alexa connectivity to let users adjust the weight with voice commands. You simply say, “Alexa, adjust my dumbbells to 20 pounds” and the machine shifts the weights on its own. Simply a wonderful device to have in your home gym.
The iSelect system comprises two dumbbells and a set of 5lbs (2.3kg) square plates for increasing the load. Each dumbbell can hold up to 50lbs (22.7kg) in 5lb increments. The shifting process happens in the onboard tray with a motorized system. The tray is paired with the Alexa-enabled smart speaker or other devices for executing the voice instructions.
Meanwhile, the user can also use the onboard dial for manual adjustment of the weight. There is even a LED screen on the tray that displays weight selection so that the user doesn’t make a mistake.
