The Australian tiny house industry has shed the yolk of the traditional boundaries in favor of spacious, mobile dwellings that can facilitate family downsizing. Case in point is the Oasis tiny house by Cocoon Tiny Homes. The Oasis is a 36.7-foot-long, two-story micro-dwelling that fits in three bedrooms in its sunlit interior.

With a width of 10.8 feet and a height of 13.7 feet, the compact house manages to accommodate every necessity inside without feeling cramped. Its three-bedroom configuration becomes a true retreat for a growing family. It can easily sleep up to eight people, provided you put a convertible couch in the living room.

The large trifold doors open into the bright central lounge with high ceilings, providing seamless indoor-outdoor living. A couch can be placed under the walkway connecting the two lofts. There’s plenty of room for a coffee table and side tables. The adjoining staircase has built-in storage cubbies.

On the left, a full kitchen is designed in a U-shaped layout. Outfitted with full-size stainless steel appliances, a pantry, and plenty of cabinets, the kitchen allows you to whip up quick or gourmet meals without feeling cramped. There is plenty of counter space for meal prep, and you can put a dining table next to the kitchen, allowing you to enjoy meals as a family.

A bathroom and a master bedroom occupy the other end of the house. The bathroom has a full-height shower cabin, a vanity sink, a toilet, and a closet. If you want, you can swap the closet for a laundry hookup.

Past the bathroom is the full-height master bedroom. It comes with its own French door entrance, a wardrobe, and room for a queen-size bed. Aside from the double doors, it includes three windows to keep the space bright and airy.

When you take the stairs, you reach a versatile king-size single room, which you can use as an office, storage, or kids’ room. The loft has a railing, but it doesn’t do much to provide privacy. The second loft, however, is enclosed behind a door and fits a queen-size bed.

Priced at AUD 259,000 (roughly $186,000), the Oasis tiny house is a true retreat for a small family. It provides a spacious downsizing experience while maintaining the amenities of a regular house.
