Ireland-based startup Outlery is aiming to reduce plastic pollution with its reusable cutlery and chopsticks that can be packed into a pocket-sized box for ease of carrying and use.

Nowadays, when single-use plastic cutlery has become one of the biggest contributors in plastic pollution, the concept of collapsible cutlery you can reuse seems a miraculous idea.

The cutlery and chopsticks are made from food-grade stainless steel while the storage boxes are made of recycled tin.

Each unit consists of three parts that can be disassembled and packed into separate boxes after usage. Whether you are going to the office or on a picnic, they will be a perfect companion to be taken along.

Just pull out the box from your pocket – screw up all the cutlery/chopstick parts together and you are ready to have your food on the go.

Outlery’s reusable and foldable cutlery is a viable solution for travelers and those wanting to reduce the use of plastic from their lives. No wonder it is making a buzz on Kickstarter, where its crowdfunding campaign is underway.

If you’re convinced with the idea, you can pledge €32 ($36) to get a cutlery set and a minimum of €18 ($20) to get a pair of chopsticks in October 2019. Available in an assortment of colors, these will also come with an additional silicone pouch to store the cutlery boxes in the pocket.
