Signify has expanded its Hue Entertainment lineup with the official launch of three budget-friendly alternative stick lights designed to bring synchronized media lighting beyond the television screen. While the announcement focuses on two key form factors, a table version and a floor version, the release introduces three distinct models.

The release also includes candle bulbs and smart switches that attract equal attention. The three major categories introduced in this rollout provide distinct upgrades across the ecosystem:

New Philips Hue Play Lamps

Expanding on the brand’s home entertainment focus, Signify released two vertical stick lights that serve as budget-friendly alternatives to the premium Gradient Signe series. While they feature identical gradient color matching that syncs seamlessly with TVs, PCs, and music, they are priced substantially lower.

  • Play Table Lamp: Standing 23.6 inches tall, this slim model is tailored to sit on media consoles to project colors behind screens. It launches at $80
  • Play Large Floor Lamp: A 53-inch flagship version designed for prominent living room corners, retailing for $150, while the 48-inch Compact variant is priced at $160

Next-Generation Candle Bulbs

The updated E14 candle bulbs feature entirely overhauled internal tech aimed at future-proofing decorative chandeliers and sconces. They include native thread chips, allowing direct integration into Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, or Google Home ecosystems without requiring a mandatory Hue Bridge.

The bulbs also support an expanded white balance, scaling up to realistically mirror crisp outdoor daylight shift throughout the day. The candle bulbs provide a stable dimming down feature and are 40 percent more energy-efficient than previous generations.

Wired Smart Wall Switches

The addition generating the most excitement across the home automation community is a lineup of mains-powered wired switches. These modules hardwire directly behind traditional wall plates, ensuring that standard light fixtures can be brought entirely into the Philips Hue ecosystem.

Unlike previous battery-powered Hue wall switch modules, these are hardwired directly, eliminating the need to tear off wall plates to swap out button-cell batteries every few years. They allow users to seamlessly mix smart and non-smart traditional light bulbs inside the same app. They can be configured to toggle standard fixtures or cycle through smart scenes.

The lineup includes standalone Wired On/Off Switches, Wired Dimmer Switches, with prices starting at $53/$66, and updated wired switch modules. All of these newly launched products will be available in the UK, US, and Europe through the Philips Hue website.
