Practicing and preparing on your own isn’t easy when you’re a tennis player without a regular trainer. Pongbot understands this and has therefore been on its toes, creating robotic tennis training systems to help your case. If you haven’t already heard, the company revealed its next-generation tennis trainer, the Pace S Pro, at CES earlier this month, and it’s now available at an introductory offer. It is priced at $1,999.99, but is currently going for a discounted price of $1,349.99.
Pace S Pro, as you guessed it, isn’t a trainer that’ll leave you out to dry when you ace up the ladder to play competitively. The AI-driven tennis ball machine is going to be there in every step of your progress, adapting to every movement you make on the court in real-time: when you’re learning and even when you are going pro.
The Pace S Pro uses ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to track a player’s position on the court, allowing it to adjust ball delivery in real time instead of feeding the ball on preset options like the other tennis training systems out there.
In addition, the Pace S Pro is designed to support players across NTRP levels 1.0 through 7.0, so you can challenge yourself against any level with automated timing between shots and customizable drills tailored through a companion app. The system’s “Recovery Trigger” feature launches the next ball based on when the player returns to position. This ensures a player is always ready for the next shot at their own pace or at match-level intensity.
What makes the Pongbot’s new AI tennis robot interesting is its support for full court coverage. It can hold up to 150 balls, allowing the player to train for over eight hours at a stretch, right from the baseline to cheeky drop shots at the net and occasional lob shots to throw you out of your game.
If you thought that was going to happen at a soft pace, the Pongbot system can deliver ball speeds of up to 80 mph. And when pace is not going to get the better of you, it can spin the balls at 60 rotations per second and can switch spin within 1.5 seconds. Interestingly, when you’re done beating the regular kids in the block, you can take to the app and design custom drills based on the playing styles of legends like Federer, Nadal, or Djokovic.
If you’re interested in what’s on the table, Pongbot is now selling the Pace S Pro tennis training system through its website. It’s offering the device at a discounted price of $1,349.99. Catch it before the ball is gone! If you may, you can get the trainer plus 100 balls for $1,449.99.
