Roku started off as a media streaming and software company a decade back. Last year it thought of building its own TV sets. The first self-branded Roku LCD TVs hit the market around CES in 2023. A year on, and now the software company wants to give the LGs, Samsungs and the likes a run for their buck with the introduction of the Roku Pro Lineup of 4K OLED TVs.

Coming to CES 2024, the Pro series of 4K TVs include 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch models with Mini-LED backlighting guaranteeing higher brightness, better contrast, and HDR levels. While we know the new Roku TVs will support quantum dot filter and LED for backlighting, there is no clarity on support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, or the figures of its screen refresh rate.

After being unveiled at CES – where we should get an insight on the features – these TVs are likely to go into production and shipping to begin in spring 2024. When that happens, the Roku Pro 4K OLED TVs will run the latest version of the Roku OS to bring content from its own app, and that of partner providers, directly on the TVs.

Since TVs at CES 2024 cannot be without AI integration, Roku has met the requirement and quite effectively at that. Roku has tapped on the least used function –picture mode setting –and trained AI to make the changes based on the content playing on the screen in real time. To that end, the new Roku TVs will be able to automatically adjust the picture mode to optimize viewing experience.

The information is scanty at the moment. There is, as mentioned, no confirmation on all the features, and even the prices remain undisclosed. We are guessing the curtains will be unveiled soon and we would have all the possible information in a week from now.
