Transparent displays are stealing the spotlight at this year’s CES, thanks to big names like Samsung and LG rolling out their latest models. They are indeed the future of display tech, and soon transparent TVs will be a common sight in homes. Adding to the excitement, Samsung has revealed its transparent MicroLED display at the event.

The screen, which looks like a piece of transparent glass, boasts an extremely small Micro LED chip and a precision manufacturing process that eliminates seams and light refraction. This allows the transparent micro LED to deliver a clear, unobstructed picture.

The Micro LED technology comes with a modular design, which allows users to customize the shape, size, and ratio of screens to suit any space. After years of research and development, Samsung has made it possible to deposit the LED chip operation circuits directly on the glass, mitigating the loss of brightness users may experience with conventional displays.

As shown in the brief introductory video, the content is playing on a microLED display that looks like a transparent glass sheet. You even see things behind what’s playing on the screen. It would be truly exciting when Samsung finally introduces a transparent TV for homes.
