Sand by Studio Ayaskan is an innovative sand clock that is inspired by Japanese Zen Gardens. It captures precious nature of time in form of conceptual analog clock. The clock designed by Bike and Begum Ayaskan, who run London and Istanbul-based design studio, desires to bring interesting elements into dailyobjects with the help of their creative products.

The clock conceived by Einstein’s quote, “Time and space and gravitation have no separate existence from matter” cleverly mimics the sand garden. The conceptual clock, slowly combs the sand in circular pattern showcasing time in form of sand ripples that highlight the twelve-hour cycle in form of endless ripple patterns.

The designers who have earlier showcased their origami-inspired pot Growth, loves to capture the lost connection between nature, environment and humans. It’s not really easy to tell time with the clock, but the art piece can make for a fantastic item of decor.

The clock is a part of series called “Ripples of Time” and it also includes another timepiece entitled Water. Currently there is no update on the same but, you can  check the video of Sand to get a closer look on the work done by twin designer duo.
