Whenever I’m on the hunt for an office chair, my criteria are simple: it needs to be budget-friendly, ergonomic, made from breathable materials, and supportive of good posture, so I can comfortably sit and work for hours. Sihoo has consistently led the way in meeting these needs. While many other brands struggle to balance price and comfort, this Chinese brand has successfully found a formula that delivers both, without sacrificing much in terms of material quality.

A fine example of such a chair on the top of the mind is the Sihoo Doro S300. A chair touting an anti-gravity mechanism for a weightless recline experience. It was the chair that pioneered the interesting wing-like dual lumbar pads for personalized lower back care, but it did so for a price tag that was not too distant from the other office chairs.

When I opened the box from Sihoo, sent my way with the Doro S100 chair, I was frankly very excited for two reasons. It was virtually detailed to be a close rendition of the futuristic S300, for a price tag not most office chairs can think of matching. And as I tore open the box, what lay before me was exactly what I hoped it to be.

The larger components of the white chair, the backrest, and seat, were wrapped in plastic, while the other plasticky parts were protected in smaller boxes. At this point, I was not very sure how the entire assembly process would pan out, but I was excited to get this chair stationed next to my workstation – in my home office – and spend some time on it before writing my review.

Easy Assembly

The assembly process was pretty straightforward to my surprise. Even for first-timers, it would be simple, thanks to the handy toolkit and clear instruction manual. The chair assembly took me under 30 minutes from unboxing to sitting on it. While you might appreciate a second pair of hands for attaching the seat to the backrest, the rest is a simple one-person job. The instructions are precise, making it easy to determine which screw goes where—no guesswork or frustration involved.

My Time With the Chair

Having spent almost two weeks with the Doro S100 as my daily driver, sitting for over 10 hours daily, I can say, especially keeping its price point in mind, that this office chair shines in ergonomics. From how I understand, for many of us, a comfortable chair could mean a world; but for a fair account, the value of Doro S100 extends beyond just comfort. I will touch upon its design, features, and construction, to try and mention what makes it a chair you can bet your money on.

Desirable Comfort

Having tested numerous office chairs, I can confidently say the Sihoo Doro S100 stands out for its exceptional back support. Many chairs I’ve used in the past encouraged poor posture, allowing me to slouch and causing discomfort over time. This chair, however, ensures upright seating with its dual dynamic lumbar support system. The “wing-like” design feels as though someone is gently cradling your lower back, offering both comfort and stability throughout the day.

While at it, the S100 isn’t the most expensive chair; to cut cost, Sihoo has trimmed some corners – re: not cut corners – when it comes to material choice. The powered-coated plastic finish and mesh upholstery in the seat and back may not give that plush sink-in feel or the serenity of leather, but it has cushiony support for the back and armrests similar to a high-end chair.

The mesh upholstery is both sleek and practical. The breathable material keeps the chair cool and the back feeling light and airy. From my time with the chair, I can say it is fairly an excellent choice for working several hours at a stretch in warm climates.

The USP of the chair is primarily its dual lumbar support, comprising two separate sections on either side of the lower back that hold you in place from both the left and the right. To support the entire back, the upper half of the backrest pitches in with its five-level adjustable backrest, which you can tailor in comfort and position to support the back depending on your height and weight.

The chair’s overall design is modern and uncluttered, adding a polished look to your workspace. Its six-way adjustable armrests allow customization in height and direction. Each adjustment is accompanied by a satisfying click, making the process effortless and enjoyable. The integrated headrest is another thoughtful feature. Unlike bulky add-ons that push your head and neck forward uncomfortably, this one conforms naturally to your neck’s curve. The soft, touchable material enhances comfort, making long hours at the desk less taxing.

Price is a Favorable Advantage

We do not often come by an ergonomic chair designed to love your back at a price tag that’s a fraction of much of its competition. The Doro S100 just does it well. It retails for around $549.99 but you can get it on regular sales for almost 50 percent discount. For instance, it is currently on sale and going for only $239.99. Sihoo also rolls in a 30-day worry-free trial, a comprehensive three-year warranty, and four interest-free installments starting at $21.66/m if you don’t want to go full in one go.

Verdict

The Sihoo Doro S100 is a value-for-money chair that balances comfort, breathability, and adjustability just well, making it an excellent choice for a home office, gamer, or a workaholic’s workstation. Its dual dynamic lumbar support is essentially what makes it a standout in its category offering the user targeted back support for improved posture and reduced strain.
