The Simply Tara Tiny House by Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses is a simple and inviting custom-made micro-dwelling. The team built this house on a triple-axle trailer, for a woman named Trish, in La Plata County, Colorado, where it is considered to be the first legal tiny house designed as an ADU to be placed on land owned by Trish’s daughter and son-in-law. The Simply Tara tiny house boasts an attractive exterior with a covered deck, a bump-out window, and an entry door. The deck is spacious, it can accommodate a lounge to sit and relax while gazing over the panoramic meadows.

What makes the exterior more attractive is the combination of painted clapboard and prefinished channel rustic board giving it a wooden barn look that pairs nicely with the burnished slate metal roof. That is all for the exterior, let’s talk about the interior now. The classic interior of this mobile home has dark wood flooring with pine walls, beetle kill ceiling, and wood trim. Now to add some lightness to the interior, there are white cabinets that go well with the overall wooden profile.

The builder has installed a carpeted cat pole at the center of the main floor to keep the owner’s cats engaged. There is an air conditioner and a fan for the regulated temperature. The interior further accommodates a living area, a kitchen, a bathroom, and two lofts.

When we first enter the house, the cozy living area has an L-shaped sofa and a wall-mounted TV, just in case you get bored and need something to entertain yourself with. But you won’t be bored as plenty of windows in the living area make the space light-filled and bring in surrounding vistas.

The kitchen is next to the living area. It has a countertop, a sink, some under-counter and overhead cabinets, and lots of storage space meticulously incorporated into the space. There are appliances like a cooktop, a range hood, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Leaving the kitchen we come to the bathroom. It has a full-size tub, vessel vanity sink, washer-dryer combo, and cabinets for storing bathroom essentials.

Let’s walk up to the main loft bedroom, accessed via a storage-integrated staircase. The loft area is perfected with a fuzzy and snuggly atmosphere. Windows all around keep the room flooded with natural light. It is equipped with a closet and a queen-size bed. Another loft has a bump out above the living area and is accessed via a ladder. This space can be used for additional storage or a reading room.

The Simple Tara tiny house is an embodiment of its name, as the word “Tara” means “Star”, or “Light of the Soul” in Sanskrit and there is no name as fitted as this for the bright and light-filled house. The Simple Tara is a dreamy and peaceful dwelling, with an overall cost of $84,000 for the custom-built.
