We’ve entered a phase in smart home technology where we even want a basic product like the doorbell or curtain driver to be smart. In such a scenario, I believe that it’s probably time you get rid of regular sofas because they are downright boring. But, do we have a more functional and comfortable alternative to furnishing present in our home? The answer is yes!

Sitjoy, a Chinese company is offering a smart sofa that could potentially be the ideal furniture to replace your existing sofa. Built by a group of friends, Sitjoy Smartsofa has 16 different smart features ranging from a built-in Bluetooth speaker to an automated smart recliner.

Boasting a number of multi-functional mechanisms, the sofa adapts to your needs effortlessly. You can relax, rock 30-degrees and swivel 240-degrees on its anti-fouling and wear resistance fabric that is ergonomic and aesthetic in appearance.

Poised on a circular metal stand, the chair has a total of four modes that let you sleep, relax, game, and read at different angles. So, if you want to take a nap when you are tired of shooting, you can turn the sofa from gaming into sleep mode. However, the biggest USP of the couch is its voice assistant feature.

The company touts that the sofa offers an intelligent voice control system that helps you change the mode whenever you want. You can set your favorite angle without getting up and pressing the button anymore.

The sofa also features four Bluetooth speakers inside its fabric upholstery that can play music whenever you want. So, you can lie down and immerse yourself in the world of music when you are tired of gaming. Smartsofa also features six-gear armrests that are adjustable at any angle you like, thus offering flexibility to the user.

Other nitty-gritty features include a 360-degree phone holder (so your hands don’t become sore while watching a movie), underneath storage for snacks and soft drinks, charging ports (both Type-C and USB charging are supported), and a lamp.

All this can be controlled by voice recognition. Soft and subtle in appearance, the sofa is for couch potatoes who never really want to get up from the comfort of a cozy sofa. It also comes with a pillow that can be used to support your neck and waist.

With a load capacity of 350 lbs and nearly four-foot width, the sofa allows two normal-sized people to sit together and relax. Currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, the Sitjoy Smartsofa is available for an early bird price of $550.
