Keeping up with the latest trends, the furniture industry is creating pieces rife with minimalism, mixed materials, sustainable design, and multifunctional and retro styles. The latest furniture piece to grab public attention is Sofan Rolling Table by designer Qi An. Why you may ask? Well, the Sofan Rolling Table folds away like a yoga mat, providing you with extreme portability.

Engineered using a combination of handcrafting techniques along with CNC machining, the table features a series of foldable legs and a segmented upper tabletop surface. Sofan foldable table does exactly what its name suggests; it folds neatly giving an advantage to both indoor and outdoor usage. It is the perfect table to be carried to campsites whether in a car or a bike.

The need to provide mobility and portability to futuristic furniture pieces supports the thought process behind the invention. The unique framework of the table surface rolls into a cylindrical shape while the legs are neatly folded into rotating sections supporting the tabletop like scissors. Once opened diagonally, the legs prevent the table from folding into itself supporting the weight above.

Created of toon wood, the Sofan rolling table’s individual segments are secured using steel pipes that run through them like hinges. Easy to transport and set up, the table can be your new companion at work, at home, or on a picnic or camping adventure. The segmented design provides an aesthetic functionality allowing for easy storage as well.
