Sony has been developing personal cooling technology for several years, with the REON POCKET series serving as its most popular wearable device. Now it has launched the updated REON POCKET PRO Plus, claimed to offer a 20 percent improvement in cooling performance over its predecessor. Additionally, this wearable device utilizes an updated cooling algorithm that allows it to respond to environmental changes more efficiently.
The REON POCKET PRO Plus utilizes a thermoelectric cooling system powered by the Peltier effect to deliver thermal relief directly to the skin. Sony claims that it drops skin temperature by up to an additional 2 degrees Celsius compared to prior generations. While the physical coldness is localized to that single spot, the physiological relief is felt throughout the entire body.
Like the previous model, the device includes a Smart Mode that automatically adjusts the cooling plate temperature according to the wearer’s preferred range set through the mobile app. The REON POCKET PRO Plus further improves the experience with an upgraded cooling and heating algorithm that works alongside multiple built-in sensors to continuously monitor skin temperature and adapt the output in real time based on the user’s condition and the surrounding environment.
The design has also been updated for a better fit. The REON POCKET PRO Plus comes with a redesigned neckband featuring thick, flexible mechanical tubing that provides 40 percent more holding stability around the neck and shoulders to ensure constant skin contact even during movement. It also features a strap hole and built-in carabiner, allowing it to be easily attached to bags, belt loops, or other accessories.
This wearable cooling device has a re-engineered vent that allows you to extend its length and adjust its angle. This prevents hot air from being blasted back at the body, ensuring discreet wear even under high-collared or layered clothing.

The cooling device can also be paired with the REON POCKET TAG 2 environment sensor device that now features an 18 percent smaller size than the previous model. It comes with tactile side buttons to change modes, while you can also use the companion mobile app.
As for the battery power, it delivers up to 15 hours of continuous operation in Smart Mode and up to 10 hours when locked onto its second-highest manual cooling level. The REON POCKET PRO Plus is now available to purchase for a price tag of $319 from the official website.
