Recognizing the growing trend of Matter-enabled smart gradient lamps, SwitchBot has launched its RGBICWW Ceiling Light, competing with smart lighting brands such as Govee and Philips Hue. This new lighting product comes nearly a year after the launch of the RGBIC Floor Lamp, which was distinguished by similar Matter-over-Wi-Fi connectivity. This feature is important in a smart home as it allows you to connect directly to Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Home Assistant, and Homey without requiring a SwitchBot Hub.
The hub-free Matter support means that no matter which platform your smart home is based on, you can turn the light on or off, adjust brightness, change color, and create automations with other smart home devices. This makes the ceiling light especially suitable for households that want simpler cross-platform lighting control.
It can recognize voice commands through Apple Home, Alexa, and Google Home for hands-free control. This can be helpful while cooking, carrying a child, entering the home, or getting ready for bed. You can also pair the light with an optional SwitchBot Remote for physical control without opening the app.
The Switchbot RGBICWW Ceiling Light supports both standard illumination and colored effects. The onboard warm and cool white LEDs allow you to adjust color temperature between 2700K and 6500K and even dim the light from 1% to 100%. This enables you to easily switch from bright cool white for cooking, studying, or working to soft warm light for relaxing, reading, or preparing for sleep.
The ceiling light also supports RGBIC technology, which uses independently controlled RGB LEDs to enable dynamic multicolor effects for more immersive lighting suitable for parties, movie nights, gaming setups, holidays, and entertainment spaces. One great feature to mention is Power-off memory, which helps restore its previous state so you don’t have to adjust settings over and over again.
You can access more lighting features through the companion mobile app, including 26 preset scenes, 8 lighting effects, and remote control. It even allows you to customize colors and brightness, set schedules, and create lighting routines for different times of day. The ceiling light also comes with timer controls that support gradual morning wake-ups or softer nighttime transitions.
SwitchBot RGBICWW Ceiling Light also integrates with other SwitchBot devices to create more responsive lighting automations. You can pair it with the SwitchBot Presence Sensor so the lights turn on automatically when someone walks through a hallway at night and turn off after the space is empty. The smart light can also respond to visitors when combined with SwitchBot Video Doorbell, Lock Ultra, or Lock Vision.
