After releasing the latest SQD-Mini LED TVs to take on the buzz around Micro RGB LED displays this year, TCL is now all set to make waves in the audio space with the launch of its A65K UltraThin Designer Series Soundbar. The coolest aspect of the soundbar is its room‑filling 3.1.2 Dolby Atmos sound packed in a low-profile design that blends seamlessly into any space. The idea is to create a slim soundbar that focuses on both seamless aesthetic and spatial audio.

With a thickness of just 50mm (less than 2 inches), the TCL A65K soundbar is designed to pair with TCL’s UltraThin TVs. This allows it to fit under almost any modern TV without blocking the screen or remote sensors. The soundbar features a dark gray finish and fabric-textured surface along with moon-inspired curves for a nature-inspired aesthetic.

Apart from the looks, the soundbar stands out with audio tuned by Bang & Olufsen. Despite its thin profile, the A65K is a 3.1.2‑channel system with nine speakers, including dedicated up‑firing drivers for true overhead effects. It supports Dolby Atmos & DTS:X and comes with AI Sonic-adaptation that optimizes sound for any layout and seating position. Furthermore, you can use 8 onboard equalizer modes to customize the sound as needed.

Another highlight is the custom three-way acoustic architecture with racetrack drivers and honeycomb diaphragm technology. This audio system comprises a long-throw full-range driver with a racetrack-shaped profile and flat diaphragm, alongside a 6.5-inch dedicated subwoofer capable of reaching low frequencies of 40Hz using a CONEX damper.

There is also a dedicated tweeter equipped with an NdFeB neodymium magnet that extends audio up to 20kHz high frequencies. The soundbar also includes a full-range dome driver in an independent acoustic chamber, enhancing height channel sound.

The soundbar offers up to 460 Watts of total power, which is higher than most of the competitors, including Samsung HW-Q600F and LG S70TY, but there are still price concerns. TCL has tapped into the B&O partnership and a higher 460W output to justify its higher price tag. The A65K soundbar supports HDMI eARC, USB, and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity, but Apple AirPlay compatibility is missing, souring the launch for some users.

Meant for the mid-range home audio market, the TCL A65K Designer Series Soundbar measures 880 × 52 × 50mm, while the subwoofer measures 350 × 354.5 × 120 mm. It is now available for $700 on Amazon. The TCL A65K Dolby Atmos Soundbar can be seen as a luxury mid-range choice.
