Tiny living culture is not restricted to the West but is also popular in the East. I keep looking for tiny houses, now and then, and I was glad to find this traditional tiny house from Japan that was featured by Tiny House Japan. It is a tiny house on wheels that has a triangular slanting roof. What captured my interest, however, is the simplicity of this micro-dwelling.

When seen from the outside, it easily impresses us with its looks and design. One can notice that the house is inspired by traditional wooden houses especially made to sustain the cold weather. On the back, this tiny house has a small balcony in a semi-circular design, where one can sit and enjoy the sun or sip on some coffee watching the sun go down.

The loft features a skylight and a large triangular window apart from a layout of windows spanning around the tiny house. These ensure good ventilation and ample natural light to penetrate into the living space, which can be accessed via a wooden door in the front, leading one inside the wooden interiors. There is a fireplace in here t keep you cozy and comfortable in cold weather.

The loft, which can be used as a bedroom is accessible via a removable ladder. There is a bench built next to the fireplace where one can sit comfortably. The kitchen area features a small sink cooktop and storage racks. Interestingly, it is all wooden and the outer shell of the ceiling light is also wooden. There is bathroom with circular wooden bathtub and a separate section with toilet seat.

We don’t know its dimensions as the same has not been mentioned on the builder’s website but still what we can make out is that this Japanese tiny house is inspiring and maintains the aspects of a tiny dwelling in a very traditional manner.
