French designer and founder of Ufunk online magazine, Fabien Bouchard (a.k.a Parse Error) has created Political Lamp. It’s a connected cloud lamp that reacts in real time to political events on Twitter, creating a thunderstorm every time it detects a tweet posted on the account it is connected to. With each tweet, it simulates a series of lightning, disturbing the soft illumination. It is actually a Twitter-powered table lamp with transparent glass body and a cloud-like composition inside.

Fabien explained;

The idea of the Political Lamp is to hide its true nature behind a beautiful object, which immediately modifies the observer’s behavior when its purpose is revealed, causing anxiety and fascination.

The Political lamp is a great lighting accessory to bring mini interactive thunderstorm right to your table. Designed to illuminate the space with elegant bluish light, this cloud lamp is perfect to add a surprising element to any space. The fluffy cloud encased in the glass body produces amazing lightning effects to mimic a real thunderstorm.

It not only illuminates the space in a heavenly manner, but also helps to stay connected to your favorite Twitter feeds. For sure, it is not an easy task to make such a connected cloud lamp by yourself, but if you are looking for an easy DIY project, then you can try to create a simple DIY cloud lamp from cotton, LED strip lights, and two round plastic balls.
