The design world circles on trends, and sustainability is leading the charge. Despite being one of the major trends in the industry today, only a few design houses stand true to their claims of being truly sustainable. Swedish furniture brand, Verk is one of the companies that want to embed this trend into their creations with utmost sincerity.

Producing sustainable furniture without compromising on materials or design is a challenging task. Nonetheless, Verk’s recent collection including a range of chairs, tables, stools, and a sofa has done so with excellent dexterity. Among a parade of minimalist furniture, however, the Armchair V.EU.01 and Table V.AS.01 stand prominent for their Swedish make.

The armchair and table are made using Swedish raw materials including Swedish wood, surface finishes, Swedish leather, and Swedish wool. Manufactured in Sweden, the collection is designed with form and functionality in mind without having to compromise on durability, traceability, functionality, or design.

Another interesting aspect of the collection is the creators. Verk collaborated with various designers in the industry to design individual pieces, something similar to what Stackabl did in their 2022 Salone del Mobile lighting collection.

Elsa Unnegard designed the V.EU.01 frame chair. It is an armchair whose frame is made from solid Swedish oak, while the seat is made from organic tanned Swedish leather. For the V.AS.01 bistro table, the company tapped Anya Sebton who relied on solid Swedish oak and birch to formulate the table. Made in a choice of round and square tabletop, the bistro table has a self-supporting shape with no screws.

Verk also assigned Johan Skoogh and David Ericsson to design other pieces in the collection. The sustainable furniture collection will bring the minimalist Scandinavian vibe to your interior, making it sophisticated and uncluttered. Stay tuned for more updates.
