Victorinox’s 58mm Swiss Army Knife is already an EDC icon, and Versa58 aims to take it to the next level. Developed by Las Vegas-based startup Keyport, this modular EDC platform uses spring-loaded attachments to transform existing 58mm SAKs into customizable multi-tools. At its core are fidget-friendly magnetic plates that allow you to build, swap, and reconfigure compact tools in seconds.
Instead of relying on traditional press-fit or glue-on scale mods, Versa58 replaces the standard plastic (Cellidor) scales found on models like the Classic SD, Rambler, and MiniChamp with its own modular scale system. The platform introduces a reversible snap-on interface engineered for repeated use, allowing you to snap/remove modules on metal surfaces easily.
Each module attaches to a 58mm SAK via an integrated spring steel interface plate that locks onto the mushroom-shaped brass rivets used in factory scales. A small flex lever allows the module to snap and detach easily without tools, screws, glue, drilling, or permanent modification. The system allows you to add features like lighting, writing tools, digital storage, or a pocket clip to match your everyday carry needs. Users can swap modules at any time or restore their knife to its original form.
The lineup includes a modular V Scale with a multi-use slot for a toothpick, tweezers, or ferro rod. As for the modules, there are options for a compact USB-C rechargeable light module featuring low, high, and lamp modes, a mini pen with a German Troika refill, and a USB-C 3.0 flash drive available in 64GB and 256GB capacities. You can expect more modules, including a Bluetooth locator, NFC module, craft blade, key blade, knife sharpener, ceramic honing plate, Bic lighter, and stylus.
Versa58 modules can also be used independently. Using Keyport’s MagMount system, modules connect magnetically to each other or to a dedicated carrier, forming standalone mini-tools. Strong neodymium magnets ensure a secure yet satisfying snap.

The modules feature 6061 aluminum or Grade 5 titanium scales, spring steel interface plates, and neodymium magnets. Keyport also plans to offer standalone interface plates, allowing users to design and experiment with their own custom modules.
Currently, Versa58 is seeking funding on Kickstarter. The base bundle starts at $48 and includes a clip scale, V scale, and two MagMounts. Additional modules are available as optional add-ons based on your needs. The product shipping is expected to start in August 2026.
