Wearable technology is going mainstream with assistive robots, most commonly referred as exoskeletons, enhancing the physical human capabilities for innumerable applications. CES 2026 is again witness to this growing trend, with Shenzhen-based Kenqing Technology bringing a pair of assistive robots to the event. The show stealer at the tech mecca is the pocket-sized VIGX π6 robot that is so small it blew us away. Alongside, the company is showcasing the VIGX π6 Sports Assist Robot.

Both these intelligent wearable devices are designed to be ultra-portable, bringing the promise of hassle-free assistive sport to your outdoor excursions or at-home assistive needs. The brand’s namesake, Kenqing refers to “the Secret of Caring for Life.” With these two products, the term metaphorically means enhancing human physical capabilities. In fact, the makers are guided by the principles of “lightweight, intelligent, and inclusive,” exoskeleton robots that are an extension of the human body.

VIGX π6 Exoskeleton Robot

We’ve seen a fair share of exoskeleton robots, but nothing comes close to this pocketable option. The assistive robot weighs just 1.7 kg and delivers a lot of power for its size. It can churn out an impressive torque of 16N·m and a peak power output of 600W, debunking the traditional belief that smaller size doesn’t guarantee more power at your disposal. The wearable is well-suited for professionals who have to stand for prolonged periods, outdoor enthusiasts, and senior citizens who desire independent mobility.

The torque delivered by the exoskeleton is almost equal to one-tenth of a car’s power output. Given that the exoskeleton is a portable enhancement you can keep handy in your backpack, makes it more practical than other assistive robots. The maker defines it as a turbo upgrade to your capabilities, augmenting human motion, thereby making movement effortless and powerful.

VIGX π6 Sports Assist Robot

This wearable is a portable exoskeleton designed around a multi-functional belt and plug-and-play power unit that levels up your convenience for daily tasks. The umbrella-sized exoskeleton, weighing just 1.8 kg, folds up into itself for carrying around in your backpack.

An upgrade from the previous version, this one is assisted by an AI + Vision system, and all the processing is handled by the quad-core AI SoC, which comes with predictive motion assistance and intelligent perception for real-world applications. Best of all, it has a low-noise operation.
