The famous French-Swiss architectural designer and painter has many monumental designs to his name, including a handful of furniture pieces. One of the iconic architectures by Le Corbusier, the Villa de Mandrot, a seaside holiday home on the French Riviera, is now listed for sale at €2.4M (about $2.7 million), giving you a chance to own a true mid-century modern gem.
The 1931 Villa De Mandrot, also known as L’Artaude, was commissioned by Corbusier’s artist friend Hélène de Mandrot. The modernist home combines the modernity and vernacular of the Mediterranean architecture. Once a holiday home, the villa has been listed as a Historic Monument ever since, marked by stone, glass, and terracotta tiles.
For the uninitiated, Le Corbusier’s pioneering experiments with glass, steel, and concrete established him as one of the 20th century’s most influential architects. His fame and reverence are so wide that UNESCO added 17 of his projects to its World Heritage List in 2026.
Now, you have a chance to purchase the two-story residence by the late French-Swiss modernist in the South of France.
