Westfalia has always set the bar high in the motorhome industry, but the all-new Columbus Liner takes it to a whole new level. Recently premiered at CARAVAN SALON 2026, this new model is designed to combine maneuverability with high-end features usually seen in large luxury motorhomes. Built on a Fiat Ducato chassis, the camper van sports an innovative three-level layout that combines a spacious living area, a king-size bed, and an optional Sky Lounge directly accessible from the bedroom inside.

The first level has a front lounge that even includes swiveling cab seats from the driver’s area. This space also includes a two-seat rear bench and a removable dual-leaf table that provides extra dining space. The dining area transforms into a 180 x 90 cm (70 x 35-inch) bed at night that can be used to sleep children or guests. A wet bathroom behind the dinette and the kitchen block on the passenger side completes this level.

Next comes the main bedroom at the rear, but Westfalia has designed it differently. Instead of placing the bed close to the floor, they raise it so you need to climb three small steps to reach it, making it feel like a more private, second-floor space inside the van, highlights New Atlas. This area is further enhanced by a special pop-up roof called the “Sky Roof.”

Unlike most pop-top roofs, there is no bed inside the raised roof; instead, it increases the headroom to about 90 cm (36 inches) above the main bed measuring 205 cm × 186 cm (about 81 × 73 inches). The raised roof also improves ventilation and fresh air circulation in the sleeping area.

The camper design is completed with the optional Sky Lounge, which forms the third level for experiencing nature in a completely new way. Accessed through the fabric door of the pop-up roof, this rooftop deck is built on the front section of the van’s roof. Think of it as a small balcony on top of the van for relaxing, enjoying the view, reading, or sipping coffee. There is also an option for a Sky Bar with an espresso machine, letting you prepare coffee directly in the bedroom and then step out onto the rooftop terrace to enjoy it outdoors.

The camper van is further enhanced with an XXL rear garage, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, and optional energy packages for self-sufficiency. The garage has enough space to accommodate e-bikes, children’s bicycles, a scooter, or outdoor adventure gear, while cupboards, drawers, storage compartments, and additional storage are spread throughout the vehicle.

Likewise, the kitchen has everything you will need to cook, including a 90-liter compressor refrigerator. As for the bathroom, it is located in the center of the camper van and utilizes a Westfalia Floor Slide System to maximize the available space. The Clesana dry toilet can be hidden in an integrated compartment, while the fold-away washbasin can also be moved to free up space for a shower.

This 6.36-meter-long Westfalia Columbus Liner camper van has four belted seats. It offers a maximum technically permissible mass of 4,250 kg, including a payload of 800-850 kg. There are multiple options for exterior colors and upholstery to match different vibes. Pricing starts at €83,900 (approx. $95,760) on the official website.
