Whirlpool is launching its latest refrigerator at KBIS 2026, which is claimed to be the industry-first refrigerator featuring a built-in Nugget Ice Maker that provides soft, chewable ice without any additional countertop appliance.
Available in 3-Door and 4-Door French Door versions, this 36-inch wide unit offers dual ice makers, providing easy access to the popular nugget ice and traditional cubed ice as well. As people are looking out more for these ice makers, Whirlpool’s strategy to include them in a refrigerator seems like a worthy idea. It will help homeowners keep countertops clutter-free and get ice nuggets easily.
Whirlpool has also introduced new products for the laundry room, including the industry-first Front Load Laundry Tower with UV Clean technology. This innovative system uses ultraviolet light that shines into the water to reduce odor-causing bacteria during the wash cycle.
UV Clean can be added to a regular wash, even in cool water temperatures, which allows you to reduce bacteria without needing high temperatures that can fade fabrics. Furthermore, it uses a fan-powered system with antimicrobial protection to keep clothes and the washer fresh.
Another highlight is the 24-inch Stainless Steel Dishwasher that comes with a 360-degree spinning lower rack. You just spin it to bring dishes within reach. The dishwasher also features a sensor cycle with AI Intelligent Wash that uses sensors to track water temperature, soil level, and load size to adjust the cycle’s wash for best cleaning results.
Whirlpool 2026 KBIS showcase presents its vision of utilizing technology to improve life at home. The new Whirlpool refrigerator with the built-in nugget ice maker is setting a new benchmark, as even Samsung and LG don’t offer such an appliance to date.
