The term Parabel often reminds us of its mathematical association but in reality, the Wooden Parabel table is far from it and takes one into the ever-evolving world of furniture. First designed by Finnish designer Eero Aarnio in 1993, the table is an authentic design made with sculptural details. First shown at the International Furniture Fair in Germany in January 2022, the table has garnered many accolades and much attention. The designer is particularly known to have created new waves in the furniture world by adopting round corners compared to the prevalent angles and clear lines.

A similar approach is seen on display in the Wooden Parabel table, added to the Eero Aarnio Originals collection in the year 2020. A larger version of the same table was earlier made from fiberglass and served as a dining table. The demand for a smaller one gave birth to this iteration of the Wooden Parabel table made using maple wood.

The tabletop is a wooden hemisphere poised disproportionately on an elongated semi-elliptical base. The delicate balance between the two structures keeps one engaged. Available in two finishes – natural (light stain) and walnut (dark stain) – the table gives its user the freedom to complement the existing interior.

For maintaining the furniture piece, it is advised not to use abrasive or corrosive cleaners and simply wipe in the direction of the wood grain with a clean cloth. Priced at €1,390($1,490), Wooden Parabel has become an ever-evolving piece that will serve well across space and time.
